Tom - so glad I found you - there are more than onew 'Tiny' you know!
It's after 8 and I have just logged on and all my messeges are to tell me that my posts have been removed from Radio 2 Board - I am not quite sure what I've done - if your Phil can shed any light on the situation I would be most grateful!

C.G.as far as I know Phil has'nt used another name, but he told me that they have had the same type of trouble that has been experienced on Q.Q. and M.C, he said they were having problems on 'Five Live' as well.
There seems to be a lot of new names on M.C.board, I was trying to remember some who appear to have vanished and the only name I could come up with is Royce Pudding(?), does she still post?

Hello - Royce Pudding has not been on (as far as I know) for ages - she always scared me a bit! Very clever - but she took a dislike to the CG character and made some rather off comments - so I tended to avoid her a bit.
Some of the new names on MC are from 5 Live and some are apparently 'new' - but from confidence and familiarity are old posters in new guises.
Alan Storer hasn't been on for ages - though I did have an e-mail a month or so ago.
I'm off to make Lucy's 16th Birthday cake now

Hi C.G. nice to hear from you again, I have yet to visit Five Live m.b. but did call-in on the Archers earlier this afternoon, it seemed rather 'sparce' compared to the ones we usually use.
Hope all goes well with the cake I entered one in the local church fete, my effort was judged third- I don't think there were that many entries- but there were prizes for only the first two,and when the judge realised a man had submitted the cake an extra prize was found, the following year more men entered the cake competion but I did not.
By the way,in case you are slightly confused about Phils reference to Yaks- his are aircraft which are made in Russia.
Bye for now

Hello Tom - thank you for your first smiley!
I have been 'on the road' today but, yes - the boards are quiet.
My cake is, as always - full of rice krispies and mars bars - it's not a 'conventional' cake! I used to do proper ones - and wonderfully creative they were too - (bunnies in cars, lions, merry-go-rounds and all sorts - but I have been let off that level of committment and am now allowed to get away with a giant toffee-ish crispy thing covered in melted choc and decorated with anything that takes my fancy - so long as it looks good!
I am very impressed by your foray into cake baking - but why blaze a trail and then let others reap the rewards? Get baking again Tom!
I am always confused! So, they've got yaks in Russia, have they?....cogs turn in the CG brain - does this mean that my beloved Yak may take wing and fly away?...and there's me thinking that loyalty to the Yak would sort out my 'all men are b@stards' issues!

tiny Posted Feb 10, 2003
Hi C.G. Glad to know that the cake will be o.k. I remembered after sending to you yesterday(?) when I went to collect my cake they had auctioned it off.so I never even had a taste, life is cruel.
As for the Yak,yes they do fly in Russia and according to Phil can give a good show, so if yours starts wagging his tail hard then spins it round even faster stand well back.
Incidentally C,G.my parents were married when they cursed the world with my arrival, fancy thinking we are all as bad as each other, how could you.
Bye for now

Oh I didn't mean you! You're Tom @fter all! I must learn to stop making sweeping statements....
The cake went down a treat and was all polished off - but I got flashed for speeding on the way home...I shall have to start seriously watching my step - those points are mounting up!

Hi C.G. the special day passed as normal in our house as Barbara had to work, but being as soft as butter I did get her some flowers, you know I do feel such a fool walking down the street carrying them, at one time I was seen at work with a bunch and got the then usual comment 'on a promise then' or words to that effect.
Did you get any Valentine cards if so any idea who sent them?
The weather promises to be cold but nice this week end so get out in the garden and do some tidying- up,I have started on the greenhouse which is in a hell of a state.
Hav a nice weekend......Tom

Hello Tom - well it's the day after the Day
and I am glad to say I got lots of ing! AND 3 cards all off the same 1 fella! I gave him one...hand done/painted I mean!
We had a very nice day - walking along the cliffs most of it and then having a cosy chinese on the sofa infront of a vid in the evening.
Good advice about the greenhouse - I know I should be out there tidying up, but....
I have a lot of green stuff all over the glass - what should I get it off with? Fairy Liquid and water with a pan scourer is what I am planning to use. Will that be ok? Sadly the tap in that part of the garden doesn't work anymore - I think our gardener cut if off in an attempt to fool the money grabbing Water Board in 1970something or other and now I don't know how to get it back (said gardener having died 2 years ago) so I have to carry all water up in buckets - it's quite a chore.
Well better get on ...supper to cook etc...
Bye

Hi C.G,what a lucky girl having three cards even if they are from the same chap,on reflection I'm not sure if that counts but never mind.
Walking along the cliffs must have been wonderful, all my experience of that passtime in your area was confined to Portland Bill and I recall there was nice view of Chesil Beach from there but I cannot remember from where, anyway It must have changed since the fifties.
That stuff on your greenhouse is probably natural plants, try using a broom to sweep it off,it worked with me.
I did get out in the garden yesterday morning but only stayed for about 45 mins as I could'nt feel my hands by then-getting soft in my old age.
I have put two dustbins near the greenhouse for watering the garden, it may be worth your while thinking about it.
Must go now, nice to hear from you
Tom

Back again - yes - I have one dustbin up there - which seems to work - but I was thinking about how nice it would be to hose down the greenhouse - perhaps the cheapest alternative would be to buy a very long hose - as I do have a tap outside the front door. I shall give this some serious thought - as I am not keen to dig up the garden to find out where the pipe - oops, guests have arrived - must go...

Hi, what a lovely day we have had today( what would us Brits say if we did'nt have such variable(?) weather to fall back on)
Barbara and I went to the Garden Centre this morning, very foggy on the way out,but o,k. on the return journey, got a few things for the garden including a new heater for the greenhouse, as it was quite expensive I'm having it as a birthday, present, that saves Barbara and Phil a worry.
Re your long hose 'C', if the distance is too long you may loose some of the pressure, perhaps the Garden Center could advise you- do'nt ask the water company as they will probably charge you extra on their rates.
How is P.A. keeping at present? can he get out to enjoy this brief spell of sunshine, and are you still painting sea shells?
Bye for now,
Tom

Hello Tom - nice butterfly! That'll be down to all the lovely that you grow.
I have been most remiss about keeping up with the h2g2 of late.
Yes, I should be painting - but have been feeling little 'quiet' of late - the PA is a constant worry and I can't really seem to focus on much else. Old age is so cruel in so many ways. I just don't want it to happen to me! My eldest daughter is in Florence and I am really looking forward to her coming home in a month or so.
I have just bought a CD on the recommendation of the little Little - John Martyn - I could not find Solid Air - but got a sort of 'best of' CD - I liked some of it a lot. Did you hear Gene Pitney on Desert Island Discs? I was completely blown away by 'Hawaii's answer to Elvis' - it was not the sort of thing I would normally listen to - but I was left gob-smacked by it - and will have to track it down. I thought it one of the better DID's in a long time -though Cornelia Parker did well!
