Although your description was near complete, here's a few things that I think you left out:

Drawing can be divided into basically two parts:
"Good" drawing and "Bad" drawing.

"Good" drawing looks "richer" than the other, because of added detail, shading, colors, etc. Although "good" drawing is much more noticable, it takes time to draw this way, time most people don't have.

"Bad" drawing is the other side of the spectrum. It surrounds most drawers worldwide, including myself. Simple "line-drawings" (drawings without shading), often black and white, are actually what makes up most of the world's comic strip industry.
