A Conversation for Hippies

Hippies can still be found today, in the form of stockbroker' children, rebelling against their parents. However, it is much harder to be a flower child now, as there is no Vietnam to protest, and the greatest threat to the world is not a president who won't back down and risks the entire world being blown to bits...it is harder to find a cause these days. However, we still like to dress funny.

At 43, I am just old enough to claim to have been a hippie. Well, if poor dress sense, a beard and an anachist attitude count, I still am a hippie. But yes, what happened to the rest? Did they all defect to the evil side,(capitalism)? Well, I suppose I must own up to having done so for twenty odd years. And I mean ODD! Now, I proudly admit to being my old self again. Totally anachistic, provocative and unruly with a bent for nudity, trees, mud and body paint. My re-transformation will be complete when I get the courage to start wearing tie dye T-shirts again. Wish me luck!

Oh, just remembered why I searched for 'Hippies' in the first place. Does anyone remember The Quicksliver Messanger Service? I am listening to them now and I am in the same place where I go when I listen to Led Zep.
