h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Really, when i start to think about it, i just really cant understand how humans as a species have actually survived this long. Despite the occasional amazing breakthrough such as the microwavable burrito, everything we make seems to be such a waste of time, take computers for example, while they allow a few great things such as this site, they really cause more problems than they solve. like earlier today, i was trying to download a few monty python sketches off of kazaa(which really is a bit overrated, and when i say a bit im being sarcastic) and it gets through about 7k, and then, it stops the download, and says theres a computer error. i stop try again, this time it makes it through 14k, and it just stops for no reason. by this point ive all but given up onb the whole process. The worst part is how we think were so great anyway. Take camels for example, bloody intelligent buggers, but yet, people say, if theyr so smart why do they let themselves be ridden on and hit with sticks instead of inventing digital watches like true intelligent species? if theyr smarter than us why didnt they make huge cities like new york and LA? the answer, of course, is that that IS why theyr more intelligent than us. By now, theyv realized the best thing they can do is get food, water, and everything they need, plus the occasional chance to kick a human in, ahem, "soft spots" and spit in theyr eye,just for walking around and getting hit with a stick they can only barely feel through all of the privy carpet smelling hair and leathery skin. by now ive gotten the damned download to work, and get this, its going to take EIGHTY ONE HOURS! after all of this and now for the next three and a half days im going to have to deal with my computer taking twice as long as usual to do anything(and thats saying a lot) just for ten minutes worth of comedy.in the end, maybe we should just settle for what we need and a few perks, instead of making our own perks and failing miserably, just take the camel, the mouse, the llama, theyv all got the point, so why havent we?
