Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

Maigret was complaining that Simenon was always making life difficult for him. Sartre sympathised, saying:
'L'enfer, c'est les auteurs.'

Funny, I never thought of the books - there was a successful TV series here. (I remember we read a Maigret in one of my German classes in school, though).

On a hill path I think. Funny you asked that TC, it is one of the very few details I remember about the dream. (Actually, I have probably posted all of them by now.)

B'El - Which TV series was it? In France there is an older one with Jean Richard, transposed in modern times (modern from that time, ie, 70s or 80s), and a newer one with Bruno Cremer which takes place in the 50s or so. (Apparently Simenon didn't like Jean Richard's interpretation, because he didn't take off his hat when entering a building.)

I read somewhere that there was a good Italian series too, with, um, Gino Cervi maybe.

It must have been the old version, I remember my parents watching it.
