The drain grill outside the front of the office (standard road style drain cover) has sprouted a new addition - a label saying 'please do not block the drain with used cigarette ends'. Yes, actually stuck onto the drain grid itself - and laminated!

Said drain, of course, is currently full of dead leaves - which might just be doing more of a job of blocking it than a few ciggies ends.

Someone, somewhere, is looking for something to do with their time I think...

Leaves - except the annoying eucalyptus leaves we deal with here - are biodegradable. Cigarette butts are not. They just accumulate. So not throwing them down the drains (or just on the ground) is sensible, but labeling it is going just a little far!

I will say mine don't go down there, just in case anyone is thinking I'm protesting for being got at

It does rather sound as though they expect someone to be deliberately sweeping a great heap in there. No-one is going to think one at a time will do any harm...
