Just been outside for a ciggie and just seen the most fantastic vehicle parked up.
A battered old red transit van - high-roof long wheel base type.
Thing is, it is clearly owned by a mad professor type - for a start it's been camper van converted including 2 kitchen sinks and sofa areas.
But the best bit is the drivers area. Centre dash has a hooded display unit that looks like some sort of early oscilloscope display with a custom fabricated pvc hood over and several wires coming out of it. Also coming out of it is some sort of circular device - possible a horn or maybe some sort of emmitter/detector unit.
To the rhs of the drivers console is a wooden box (clearly home made) with a large dial knob and a few toggle switches. Above it is mounted an LCD display - just the exposed display itself, clearly cannibalised from something else - with exposed wires leading from the various connections into the back of the wooden box. A couple of power leads running down the side and out of sight. Behind the drivers seat are a couple of large crocodile clips of the battery charger type.
There's a speaker unit (about 5cm diameter) attache to the side of that.
To cap it all off there is a can of guinness in the centre console cup holder!
I'm not quite sure whether it is going travel in time as soon as it hits 88mph or detect ghosts in the local area!
I'd love to see the face of the copper that stops that one

I should I've just been out and there is just a dry patch on the ground where it used to be....freaky!
No evidence of flaming tyre marks however

Probably best not to take photos anyway. Sounds like it might be driven by the kind of person who'd be paranoid.
