I hope that is how you view your return. After the last few days I cannot contemplate another loss.
I am comforted by the thought that something good has come recently from America.
Hope your journey brought about all that you could have wished, or, failing that, an acceptable conclusion.
To keep you going in case, like me, you decide to immerse yourself in the mountain of obituaries, some of them from "post mortem joiners".
There is a particularly moving one at:

You can call me TC Posted May 26, 2001
We are all worried about you. You don't seem to have posted since the date you said you'd be back again from the States, and, even if things took longer than anticipated over there, perhaps you would have found a computer to log on.
Please contact one of us - several have written e-mails, too.....

Kaeori,
I'd like to echo TC's comments - we *are* worried about you. I think of all my friends here as family, even more so with you as the mother of the thread I take most interest in.
If anyone reads this and can at least put our minds at rest over Kaeori's safety, please post some news.
Your friend,
Nikki

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Jun 11, 2001
Welcome home, K. It is nice to hear from you again. We have all been genuinely worried about you. As you will notice from all the messages, postings and e-mails. Your Cappuccino entry was accepted while I was away, so congratulations are in order. It hasn't made the front page yet, so you haven't missed the big day.
Now that you're back, maybe it's time for some coffee.

It's so nice to see your postings. I'd forgotten about my entry, I'll go and have a look to see what's happened.
It will take a bit of time to catch up. h2g2 needs a summary button!
If I'm not mistaken, your list of entries is even longer. I think you've been very busy.
Oh, it's so good to be back.

You're right. I had a few entries reach the front page (6 in the last two weeks, including 2 on one day). There's nothing to it. I hope your experience will encourage you to write lots more.
Wandrin' Star and Duncan are fully back with us since last Friday. They had been semi-invisible in the run-up to the British Election.
Duncan's engaged. Trillian's Child broke her teeth.
Finally, if you feel like reviewing my "Ways to make good coffee" article, follow the link on my home page.
Cheers!

It's *so* good to be surrounded by familiar, friendly faces - h2g2 style, of course.
Catching up is a full time job.
I notice that TPTB are considering a vast new range of smileys, including a cappuccino smiley. I can hardly wait!
Unfortunately, I'll have to go back to the US soon - maybe by the end of this month. Until then, I just want to enjoy myself here.
Thanks for everyone's concern and kind words - really wonderful to come back to.

OK but keep tight hold of your address book (or did you mean the one in your messenger?)
And log in whenever you can - for the sake of your own sanity.

"And log in whenever you can - for the sake of your own sanity."
Erm ... isn't that oxymoronic?
I prefer:
"And log in whenever you can - for the sake of OUR sanity."
