I've been OK. Out of school now, looking for a job.
Job hunting is more work than I bargained for.

msmonsy Posted Jan 10, 2002
sorry about leaving so quickly last night but my puter decided to get a mind of it's own and wouldn't let me back online .
i wish you luck on job hunting...it's never as easy as you think it will be. lots of interviews and very few call backs. just don't loose faith, in the end it is worth it .

So what's up with you?
You're the only one online more old school than me
msmonsy Posted Jan 10, 2002
it's been a bit busy for me but what else is new . two teenagers and 4 grandkids tend to keep you running .
we have to be in court on february 4 for the trial against richard. marijke (my eldest daughter) is a bit nervous about facing him but i assured her ther would be lots of people around to protect her.
aside from that obvious thing which is up everything has been going quite good.
how about yourself? besides job hunting?

That will teach me not to read your site before opening my mouth.
Wow. I don't know what to say. I'm sorry, and I wish you all the best.
I won't say anyhting more, because I will only say the same thing over and over again, and I'll bet you're sick of questions.
I just hope you're spending some truely quality time together.
Stop by sometime.

not to worry, things are going well. the first court date is set for february 4. he is still locked up and his 'buddies' have the fear of god in them thanks to our detective giving them a phone call or meeting some of them in person to explain why they needed to leave marijke alone.
btw....what is that post above your last one that is awaiting moderation? why is it hidden? what was said in it?

I resaid the important stuff in the last message. The stuff that was moderated wasn't important. ^_^
I just found out that the BBC doesn't take criticism well either. ^_^

Hi there, Hi monsy, I hope things are going as well as they can.
SetupWeasel you said above:
"I just found out that the BBC doesn't take criticism well either."
In this context your posting seems to be saying that your earlier failed posting you made was failed because it criticised the BBC. That wasn't the case at all. Or perhaps you were referring to a posting in another conversation?
Anyway, don't take it too hard, we try to be fair!

setupweasel...since h2g2 became part of the bbc things have changed a bit. they have to be a bit more careful about what is said on the site. sometimes things can be moderated or hidden because there are things in it which break a copyright law and at other times it can be things that have been written which might offend someone else to the point that the offended person can retaliate against the bbc. being a larger, more widly known, entity the bbc has to be very careful. they aren't really trying to be hardbums but they do have to watch their p's and q's a bit more closely due to their size and such. that being said i will drop it now .
anyway, hello peta, things are going smoothly for me right now and the sun is shining (well, not right now...too early in the morning but you know what i mean ).
setupweasel, how is the job thing going? any good prospects yet?

Hello. I hope I'm not intruding.
Monsy, I've read what you have written about recent events and I'm glad to read that the boy in question is still behind bars.
Send your family my love and support.

No, that was my other moderated post.
The moderated post in this thread was moderated, because I "Condoned illegal activity."

By the way, do you know that I not only condone, but used Napster?

Monsy, I know about these rules, and I find them vague and stupid. I am in the process of feeling them out. If I don't like what I see, I probably won't be posting here anymore .
In my moderated post I wished ill upon the jerk in question, which I should not have done, but shouldn't have been moderated.
Sorry .

Hi SetupWeasel
We know that you meant well, but you can't publish things like that here, anymore than you could in any other publication. It's particularly difficult saying that kind of thing in a public place when someone is up for trial. You could be seen to be prejudicing the trial which is why we had to remove it. Newspapers aren't allowed to publish things like that either, it's the law I'm afraid. We all do feel for Monsy and her daughter, so we need to take care to do the right thing for them now.

twiggyleaf, than-you for your caring words. everything dealing with the situation seems to be under control and moving forward. marijke is still having a bit of trouble but that is understandable after what she has been through. she's a bit scared about the trial, we are assuring her she will not be alone and everything will be ok.

setupweasel, i understand your feelings about this boy...trust me, we all have the same ones. i do have to agree with peta though that right now we have to be very careful as to what we say and do. this trial is very touchy and nothing needs to go wrong. suffice to say, we have the same feelings and thoughts about this boy we just have to word them in such a way as to keep from breaking any laws or damaging the court case. don't let it upset you too much, sometimes things aren't fair or don't seem right but in this day and time things that weren't a problem before are now very much a problem. just the way it is...it's not right but it's the way it is.

peta, thank-you for trying to explain, i know sometimes your job is hard and you end up getting the butt end of things because of your responsibilities. hopefully you don't take them too personal...think of it as the receptionist who answers the phone with an upset client on the other end of the line...the receptionist didn't do it they are just the first one this client can vent to .

Peta this is a forum not a magazine. My opinions are my own. I am not affiliated with the BBC in any way. I do not claim anything I say is worthy of standing up against the ethics of journalistic integrity.
Not that any news company practices anything other then the ethics of money and sensationalism.
I am currently feeling out the boundries of these "House Rules," which are extremely vague. For one I didn't read "condoning illegal activity" as a rule, but that was the reason for having my post removed. When I am done, I will make a decision whether H2G2's censorship is worth it's convenience and aid to a dream of a writer who I look up to.
I did not submit that post to monsy's thread to see if it would get moderated, but you can expect such posts from me in the future.

I'm sorry monsy. I wish you luck, an I won't continue this argument with H2G2 in your forum.
