Hallo, Monsy!

Howdy! Just thought I'd drop by here and tell you what's been happening - just so I don't bore the poor folk at the harmony centre, who've probably all heard this at least once.
Erik and I are buying a house! Our first, honest to goodness, real live, full-size house! I'm terribly excited in case you couldn't tell.
The closing date is Aug. 8 and I have no idea how I'm going to manage to wait that long. One thing worth waiting for - other than the house, of course - is the fact that we'll be able to get cable service for the 'puters out there. We'll buy a new computer, get set up and then I'll be able to log on from home as well!
Anyway, that's our big news. How's life been going for you? Obviuosly you've been busy - work has a tendency to do that doesn't it. How's everyone there? Catch me up.

sounds like you have been doing quite well it is always great to get into a new place and such .
let's see...my family has been having the jitters what with both teenage girls learning to drive at the same time! can you say AAARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!! let's just say that i now have even more reason to keep my hair coloured than i did before LOL!!
i am back working with hma since last october when they began phoning, emailing and such. i gave in and met them for lunch one day, next thing i knew i was back in the office again only this time things seem to be quite a bit less stressfull. wonder if they might just of learned something??
hubby is still working on old vehicles and right now our dart and valiant are in for interiors then we will finish painting them and making them shine like new it's been a fun project to watch come together....
of course with work and family keeping me so busy lately i haven't had much time at all to hop online so things around here have been a bit neglected. i do try to pop on now and then but normally there isn't anyone else about so i am just surfing solo.
anyway...this might become a book if i don't stop and i still have 2hrs left at the office so i guess i best close it up for now

Sounds like things are going well there!
Both teenagers learning to drive at the same time. Just thinking about it has given me a reason to start coloring my hair. Probably for the best I'm half a continent away.
The Dart and the Valiant sound like they're going to look great! I'm still in my Metro, but finally finished paying it off. Yeah! Its a good feeling.
I'm glad to hear that HMA is going better this time around. Tell them they'd better be sure to treat you right! I'm still at BVRP and happy most days. There are times when I want to pull my hair out and run away screaming, but I'm sure you understand that.
Well, my lunch is over, so its back to the phones with me. Hope your weekend goes well if I don't get a chance to type again later.

msmonsy Posted Jul 14, 2001
lunch?? at work??? hhhhmmmm....i recall getting something like that once before but it was a long time ago and it might only be a pleasant dream i really do hope work gets to where it slows a bit soon...seems things stay 90 to nothing all the time lately but at least the stress of people is calmer so if i had to choose i would keep the busy part i guess .
as for the girls driving...the water between us might not be enough to keep you safe, you haven't seen some of the stunts they have pulled while learning to drive...nothing would suprise me with the two of them LOL!! at least both girls have their own car...tamara has a firebird and marijke has a ford escort (small due to her lack of size, figured it would work best for her). it keeps them away from mine which is what we started out having them learn in and i don't mind telling you that scared the dowadiddly out of me
right now though both of them are off doing their own things with friends so it is nice and quiet around the house...mark is outside working on cars (what else is new) and i just finished up housework and thought a break would be nice .
speaking of break, i guess i need to run outside and make sure my car (the one he is working on right now) is still ok

Hope the cars are all alright!
The one thing about work being busy that is nice for me is that the days seem almost to fly by. Unfortunately, weekends have been almost as busy lately, so they fly by too.
Its probably a good that the girls each have their own cars. I learned on my mother's car and she always had a look of terror on her face... Soon after, I switched to learning on my father's Ford Maverick. (Now *that* was a car. It was a '74, two-door with a V-8. VROOM! )
Well, Monday is upon us again, so I'm back at work. Hope your weekend went well and that your work week is a good one.

my work week?? well, it is almost over and let's not even go there LOL!! it has def. been one for the books...neighbours who had a falling out, one part of the fall out works @ my company, other half of the fallout decides to go wacko (or wackoer than normal for her), other half vanishes over the weekend only to turn up monday morning @ the office leaving me to have to call the other half and tell her not to file a missing persons report because he really isn't missing. other half shows up at the office to speak with him only i am not here to help keep things civil because my nonasmatic daughter suddenly decides she is and must be rushed to the dr.'s office where after one adrinilene (sp?????) shot, two breathing treatments and an inhaler later they decide to quit taking her blood pressure and checking the colouring of the skin under her fingernails. after finally getting home and beginning to relax a bit the half that moved out without telling the other half shows up @ my house to chat for a bit while the other half who was the one that was left by the chatty first half decides to find any excuse in the world to pop over every 10 minutes leaving me feeling quite uncomfortable.
that about covers it for my monday. now, would you like for me to tell you how the rest of my week went??

Wow! That's quite the week, it sounds like! Hope the neighbors work things out soon and that your daughter is feeling better. Doesn't sound like a pleasant experience at all...
Fortunately, my week hasn't been anywhere near that interesting. Mostly its just been filling out paperwork and tracking people down... Not bad, but definitely keeps me busy.
In fact, I just remembered that I have to call the bank. Hate to post and run, but that's what my lunches have been like lately. You seem to know exactly what I mean.
Have a and a and a better ending to the week.

msmonsy Posted Jul 22, 2001
tamara is still having problems but what else is new seems she has been sick more lately than she has been well.
i did take time out on saturday to be a lazy bum. went to the video store and stocked up on a days worth of dvd's then just vegged out on the sofa watching mindless entertainment LOL! it was great!
the rest of my week last week was just as hectic as my monday but i am hoping that this week is a bit calmer...can't take it staying this way
how is the house stuff going? everything still on track? i always did hate to deal with the moving and such of a house. once settled in it was fine, wonder why they don't bring someone in to deal with packing, sorting, unpacking and everything else when they sell you a house?? you would think that for the price of the house they could afford it?? oh well, guess they have to keep us tied in knots somehow LOL!!

Crazy! Well, tell her that I hope she is better soon.
I'm praying for a quiet week myself. (Not counting on it at all, but it would be nice.) We're all gearing up for September already - we generally get really busy around the time school starts. A week or two of quiet between now and then would be nice.
The house is proceeding - more slowly than I like, but there it is. I am ready to just have everything signed and be moved in, but we still have just over two weeks before that will happen. Ah well, once it is done, I will be very happy. I think that this is even worse than the moving. I've moved alot so its not quite as traumatic as it might be - not that I *like* it of course - but this waiting is really starting to get on my nerves.
Right now, I am distracting myself by trying to figure out paint schemes and the places to put furniture. So far its seems to be working, as I'm not so insane as I could be.
Here's hoping this week is better for all of us!

msmonsy Posted Jul 26, 2001
well, so far this week is not too hot (could be worse but could be better). took her to her dr's appointment yesterday and left out with a list of medicine a mile long (7 new prescriptions to go along with the ones she already has) this is getting crazy if you ask me! everytime i turn around something else is going on. hopefully we have just about narrowed down the problems and will have them under control soon so that she doesn't look like a traveling medicine cabinet .
besides that though i guess this week has been a bit better. marijke just came in and her newest 'love' is with her (what else is new? LOL!!) seems ok but i am always a bit cautious with the ones that are real polite, normally means they are up to something . tamara is off spending the night with a friend of hers and will help her babysit tomorrow so she is set for her day. marijke doesn't mind this because it gives her some time to relax by herself.
i finally got in touch with garibaldi today, he is well on his way to getting settled into his new place in atlanta and if all goes well we will give him a visit before too long. will have to grab dabaren for the adventure as well (he is just right outside of atlanta).
when it comes to your house just remember it is a bit like childbirth...you think it will never end but then before you know it they are grown and moved out. in other words in the blink of an eye you will find yourself moved in, unpacked and settled back in your comfy sofa with your feet propped up .
you will have to take pics when you get it all together, or maybe progress pics to show the stages...you know, the ones where you suddenly realize you can't remember which box the coffee pot is in and it is 6 am and you desperately need that cup of coffee...or toilet paperm you know that bathroom box was right there a second ago but now all that seems to be there is a box full of stuff you didn't even know you owned

Gw7en, Voice of Chaos (Classic) Posted Jul 26, 2001
I'm sorry to hear that she's on more drugs. Poor thing. Hope she gets better soon. Oh, and you're probably right to be worried about the quiet ones. Erik, my fiance, is one of the quiet, polite ones.
Good to hear that Garibaldi is all settled in. I really do have to figure out a way to make it out there to meet everybody. The whole house thing has put a cramp in travel plans, however.
The picture taking has already started. I got some shots during the inspection. I'll continue it and set up a site somewhere I can post all of them when we're done so that there is photo evidence for everyone.

i'm sure most of the drugs will go away before too much longer, most of them are just to get her problems under control so that the permanent ones will work better.
well, marijke's quiet polite one just worries me because it is not normal to find a kid that acts like that...most of them are a bit polite and such but he just seems to take it to extreme....maybe he is ok and really is like that but the first thing i think of is my boyfriends from when i was a kid and how they would act in front of my parents hehe!!
if you do happen to make it this way we will hang a hook to put you on while you are here and then we will travel over to see a few of the other researchers it would be a hoot!
someone was mentioning a site, can't remember who though, that is supposed to be really good for posting things and having conversations...i will have to travel back through my stuff and find out who it was and what the site was
anyway, best go for now...actually eating lunch today so don't want it to get cold

I lucked out and didn't get hit with too many drugs as a teenager. As I get older though... Well, the amount is definitely increasing. And I'm not that far out yet.
I understand what you mean about the polite quiet ones reminding you of your own beaus. I'm not looking forward to any of the people my future children might bring home. Especially if they're anything like the guys I dated!
I am now definitely planning on getting down there to meet everyone now. That sounds like a wonderful time. Maybe I can coordinate with Marv and we can head out there together some time...
If you find the site, let me know. I'd love to have a place like the eCircles used to be to post pictures up... With the house looming in the near future, I should have some really good ones too.
I'm just getting ready for lunch myself - although admittedly my lunch is cold. Too warm out for hot food. Anyway, hope your lunch was good and your weekend is relaxing.
