From the US are news equally Frustrating situations;
Should links be needed I will supply them.

Judith Miller - a reporter in jail over not releasing her source. The public does not know what the grand jury investigation is about. It could be about, though not neccesarily affect the the highest offfice.
It is related to the same topic Chaney is identified with. Chaney does not see himself as the sourceof a leak. He approved for another reporter to name him as a source ( not a leak)so the other reporter is not in jail.
Leaks are often a well planned way of operating but this administration has taken it to an art and become quite comfy.
Rove has used it many times in his carreer according to stories about him. ( Bushs Brain documentry covers it )I hope that practice is stopped or lessened.

This Supreme Court nominee is considered moderate by conservative standards. I hope he is logical about the meaning of pro-life when it comes to death sentances if he is pro-life on aborion views.
More worrisome to me - is the fact he is well known to the corporate and Washinton DC world and been a lawyer to Bush Sr and other Republican Presidents.
He argued before the Supreme Court the enviroment is not covered by any constitutional protections or rights.
That is not "pro-life" IMO!
He would likely be supportive of letting the pharamcuetical companies and the FDA off the hook for large legal suits over medications.
Lately the Supreme Court to taking private proerty for corporate use if it results in higher tax base. This is a change from taking land for health , education or public safety or rights of way like roads and public utilities.
Business or massive rental units will always be more "profitable" than any single family housing neighborhood.

The bait and switch, Again.
Gonzolas was seen as the torture ammendment lawyer (with some help from the press)thereby releasing any responsibilty or frienship duty payment of Bush to suggest he be a Supremem Court Judge. That took care of considering naming any minority to the court.
Sadly A minority still equals a person of color = a woman = equals a liberal to the far right political community at the *top right now. Disclaimer; Not "all C" see it that way including Mrs B.

The UN nominee is awful. The move was made while the senate was out of session. I haven't seen B grin that much in a while.
I am surprised by the timing with the Supreme Court judge position hanging. Though I suppose B really has nothing to lose.

The stumbling and bungling atempts at not using the phrase war on terror has been odd and somewhat interesting. Pitiful reversal of a long memorized phrase. They have gotten the assignment of phrases down but this one is tough for those changing before the key phrase infront of the cameras.

Most of that I have actually heard of over here, but this made me angry...
'He argued before the Supreme Court the enviroment is not covered by any constitutional protections or rights.'
The environment does not have to be classed as a citizen to be worthy of protecting. How does he intend surviving without food or clean air or even ground to stand on. Infuriatingly stupid man.

Kaz,
I would happily deprive him of such things if it means he fades in to obscurity sooner rather than later Without the "oxygen" of publicity he would be a sorry sight along with many others

Hi Websailor, if only we could show him what being deprived of the environment would be like, just for a second.

Kaz the real stumble is that they have given corporations the rights of an individual. In short time the Native tribes became considered a corporation.
It would seem as easy step from there to consider protecting the environment a responsibility of corporations. The military installations have always been immune to the same environment laws which of course has led to a lot of pollution on bases and other government property.

The news about Roberts and the abortion protesters thingee is very skewed.
He of course did Not support direct violence against anyone.
He repealed the law that made the protesters stand back a certain distant when protesting. It enabled them to not be touched or getting in their face at the entrances, parking lots at the abortion clinics for their protection and safety.
The violence against these workers and clients did increase after that decision.
It makes me very suspicious (once again)IMO the far right gets the lefts view out in an extreme way before the left speaks for themselves. They can control things much better that way. There is more yelling and introducing (IMO) of the false rant-presentations-claims and statements from the left that were never made or only by a few angry extremists.
Key: Complain about this post
