Powel did not like or believe the first report and had another one to read this week in which the numbers of terrorists events were twice as high.
Powel has showed more integrity during this administration than any one other obvious person in a position of power before the cameras.
For Goodness sakes Kerry - Please ASK him to be your VP.
You considered another Republican so why not this one?(McCain)
Pick Powel

Hi,I have just seen the web where Powel is seen. I get terrorized whenever I have to listen to either western stories or eastern narration

That would be amazing and bold if he did pick Powell, Abbi. I can't remember any candidates crossing party boundaries with their VP. I hope that Kerry picks someone wonderful, but I don't know if there really is a good Democratic choice out there. Maybe Edwards, but he seems very young, and too liberal for many tastes.

So how does that work, picking a Republican running mate when you are a Democrat?

They would consent to change parties.
That has been done but not at this particular stage.
Reagan was a Democrat but changed before he ran as Republican.
Some of our Senators ( Ben Nighthorse Campbell changed parties after they were elected to office!(seems wrong)
An Independant could be chosen also in which case I am not sure if they would have to change parties. MCain a Republican(from reports)had considered being a Dem canditate for VP but not for long.
I think for Powell the group he would least like to leave in the middle of the road hanging--is the Military.

Gephart and Edwards seem the most likely.
I have no idea if Gore is being considered but I doubt it.

Since we have had proportional representation, there has been 'party hopping' legislation introduced so that once elected if you leave your party there is a byelection to see if the electorate still wants you.
Is Gore totally out of favour then? What has happened to him? He had a good record with environmental issues didn't he?

I'm pretty sure Gore is not under consideration. He did not do as well as he should have in 2000. Plus I can't imagine he'd want to be VP AGAIN. I would have liked it if McCain had come on board. That would have been a strong ticket. But it is sad to me that the dems might have to bring on a republican in order to win in this country.
MN Congressman, Norm Coleman switched from Dem to Rep while he was mayor of St Paul. I think he was always a Rep at heart, but St Paul doesn't elect Republican mayors so he pretended to be Dem until he got elected. He is very manipulative.

So it happened there to?
When our guy switched parties we became known as a Republican state.
I see we are still listed as an undecided right now

Gore is doing public service speeches and telling the truth the way he sees it. He makes the most wonderful speeches these days. I have one in my old journal entries that is supurb. He is considered a goofy far out liberal . He has been quite out spoken on issues of National Security. The environment has always been his prime issue.
I believe Gore is not an option. The Dems need somebody to win the southern US and the undecided states.

Bush's people are trying to tell us we're a swing state. I don't believe it. I think we'll go Dem in the end. I'm glad Gore is being articulate and vocal. I haven't heard him recently.

Important message and a hopeful reminder too.
It is good to know the figure. The US is only 4 percent of the worlds population.

The important but not so hopeful news

What really was said by Bush in the past about the reasons for Iraq.

An interview with previous fore runner Dean.
As far as practical proof he did do a lot in his own state AND the people of his state would have voted for him. That is not always the case with candidates.
read amnesia if you can take it
Having experienced near drowning and lightning it breaks my heart to read of such deliberate things. It is not new news but revisited.

Yay! Supreme Court Justice A. Kennedy and the American Barr Ass
This is a legacy of Reagans that needs to be balanced.
