I very interesting post which I enjoyed reading, although I think it needs a focus and possible conclusion of your thoughts.
Also, have you thought about discussing programming or mathematical languages? These are very much a product of modern world, but have long links in history. In fact I'm sure that someone told me that mathematicals is the only true universal language and is why it was sent out on the voyeger probe.

Thank you bourne 106 for your comments. I think that programing and mathematical languages deserve a separate entry, as there is so much to say!
The Voyager plaque is an interesting subject in itself - it was designed by Carl Sagan and his first wife Linda, an artist.
