Nice article. A couple of things though...
"more than a human child" is a very inaccurate figure, how about some actual weights?
More information on where the Atlantic Salmon survives today, where you found it before man wrecked all the rivers, and where it's threatened today.
More information about the effort made to limit the damage made by dams by building salmon stairs and similar.
More information about fishing, both commercial and sports.
For inclusion in the Edited Guide I'd say it needs to be less Essay and more... something else, but that's just my opinion.
Keep up the good work.

I will work to improve the article based on your suggestions, though I do not plan to change the article from an essay into "something else".
I thought that the Edited Guide to the Galaxy was a collection of essays and the like about factual information, similar to an expanded encyclopaedia with articles from all around the world. In fact, I was quite surprised when I realised that people were posting their stories and creating nonsensical clubs on H2G2, which I originally viewed as an online centre of intellect.

What I think NAITA was referring to is formatting. It's quite usual for entries on h2g2 to have headings to guide the reader through the entry. It doesn't generally mean hacking the entry about, if that's what you though he meant. (That's what you meant, isn't it ,NAITA?)
Have a look at the Writing-Guidelines if you haven't already done so. There are loads of great entries to look at as examples of what makes an entry good guide material.
Perhaps in an entry of this length, it isn't such an issue, however it does make entries more readable.
Edited Guide entries also do not have author's name in the text of the entry, so you will need to remove this, although as and when it gets recommended, the Sub-Editor would remove it anyway. It makes the job simpler if you do it.

Yes, headings is exactly what I meant. Thank you, ZSF.
And, Adler, I think you will find, if you examine H2G2 carefully, that it is really several communities in one. There are the people who write facts, facts and nothing but the facts, the people who discuss current events, the weirdos who form strange societies and discuss the merits of these, the ones who write fiction, and the ones who just read one or more of the above. And a lots of people fall into more than one of these cathegories, althought few, I think, fit into all. It's part of the beauty of H2G2.
I hope you will find your place in the community.

I will put in headings for each of the paragraphs. Thank you for you suggestions.

Atlantic salmon are have a negative image over here on the pacific coast of North America. They have been introduced by norwegians for use in fish farms. Escaped fish interfere with native salmon and spread disease.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
