Maybe Not so Boring
Emee, out from under the rock Started conversation Jun 23, 2005
I started writing this in Boring & Banal and decided it was more of a journal entry:
I'm reading a book with which I am seriously disappointed. It's a semi-trashy novel by an author I usually like. But her 'heroine' is so abominably rude and self-centered I have no interest in her whatsoever. She also has several personality traits and speech patterns which I'm sure the author intended as 'quirky' but which are annoying and make the character seem ignorant when she is meant to be clever.
I found out this morning that I'll be supporting a new sales director's customers. A co-worker and I will be switching customer bases. The sales rep for one of the more 'needy' customers requested that her account be given to me. The person who used to have the accout is leaving to work at another communications business. That made me feel good to know that I'm doing a good enough job that people are saying nice things about me when my back is turned.
I'm having my gallbladder out next Friday. They offerred on Tuesday to do it tomorrow, but next Friday works better with my schedule. My brother and his wife are going to take Peanut to my mom's for the Independence Day weekend. Mr. Emee and I may or may not make it down there. It depends on how well the pain meds work. It's outpatient, so I'll be able to rest at home afterwards. Really I'll be at my brother's house. Driving an hour north would be counterproductive when we need to drive south to get to Mom's. She has threatened to buy a pony to get my brother's daughter to want to visit more.

Re: book - I hate it when a book disappoints.
Re: work - Cool .
Re: Gall Bladder - Well, if you're like others I know who've had it done, your diet is going to be VERY healthy from now on, whether you like it or not.

The book is especially frustrating because her other stuff has been so funny.
As for the diet... that's what I've heard - hence the drive in lunch today including tatertots and the M&M cookies for dessert yesterday... oh well. It won't hurt me to lose a few pounds so it will probably turn out for the best.

Yea, A woman at work here had it done a few years ago. She was a bit overweight when she had it done. She lost 20 - 40 lbs pretty quick. She said it didn't take too long to get used to an almost compleatly no-fat diet. She missed a few things but if she slipped she would feel so sick afterwards it didn't take much longer to get over them.
Now if I could just do the diet without the surgery maybe I'd finally get somewhere.
Nah, probably not... I need to exercise more than I need to diet.
Welcome to the twenty first century. That's why you saw George Jetson on the treadmill all the time.

Mrs RBA had her gall bladder taken out a few years ago, by keyhole surgery.
Although, at the time, she was told she had to have a low-fat diet from then on, she in fact eats exactly the same as the rest of us.
I don't think she had any significant pain afterwards. In fact, the operation was soi quick and painless that she had to be reminded that she had had fairly major surgery and should 'take it easy'.

I could do with a spot of boring now. I'm hoping that having it out won't wreak too much havoc on my diet but I really could stand to lose a few pounds and cutting out high cal, high fat foods would do it. I would sure miss & cheese though.

I believe you still can, just in moderate amounts.
