I went to my first auto show this weekend with Peanut and Mr. Emee. I was *not* looking forward to it. For fun, Mr. Emee drives through car lots looks at cars, so I really didn't feel like looking at cars - again. I ended up enjoying myself. We looked at all sorts of cars, trucks, SUVs, minivans and never got hassled by sales people. Climbed in and out of them, pretended I owned more than one of the convertibles and was cruising through the hills, tested the fold up seats in all the minivans (because that's what we're getting next *sigh* kids). I even got within touching distance of a $110,000 car - a Masaratti. In addition to the new stuff, they had classics, kit cars and Mopar - vroom, vroom. Mr. Emee enjoyed playing 'stump the product specialist'. He knew more about the options and offerings than the corporate delegates.

My uncle used to 'have' to go to auto shows all the time... he's the head teacher for the college's auto-body course. So he'd have to advertise the school. He would normally show his rebuilt 1966 Mustang with before and after photos... anyways, he was getting pretty tired of auto shows. He'd go to around 5 per year and most of them are exactly the same. The big one in Houston was ok because it had different venders and what not, but most were the same or close enough. He'd even recognize the same tattoo artists.

We saw a booth for a local uni course in repair/restoration but they didn't have any representatives that I noticed - only a stand up photo collage thing and some brochures.
Mr. Emee would love to go to auto shows all the time as a product specialist. For fun he goes to car dealerships and plays 'stump the salesman' - asks them questions they don't have answers to.
Tattooing is still illegal in Oklahoma but probably not for much longer. A bill went through one of the houses last week to legalize & regulate it.
