The state film & television commissioner quit yesterday. So, I called my friend, the former theatre managing director. He worked in film & music videos when he lived in California and would be perfect for the job. Here's to the Hollywood invasion! The economy could use it.

That brings up another, completely unrelated thought. I read an article the other day about storm chasing tours. For about $1500 a week, you can ride in a cramped van with a bunch of other people who paid that sum and try to find tornados. Apparently, a boom in tourist business happened after the movie "Twister" came out. "Twister" was filmed in Oklahoma in a town (can't remember the name) that was blown away by real tornados at least a couple of times afterwards.
