We're supposed to go in Tuesday for Peanut's well child follow up for her bout of pneumonia a few weeks ago. Too bad she's sick again. Started with some coughing during nap times and at night. Now she has the runny nose, wheezing, coughing, etc - full blow sinus infection that's headed straight for at least bronchitis and probably pneumonia. I am at my wit's end. She has no allergies to keep her immune system working overtime so that she can't fight off these bugs. We give her allergy meds that are supposed to help her respiratory system since she has been unofficially diagnosed with asthma.
She does get better with antibiotics so it probably isn't viral or fungal sinus infections. She is just sick all the time. She has been to the doctor at least twice a month since October last year and I don't know how many times since she was born. I've been looking up fun stuff like cystic fibrosis and autoimmune diseases. She is symptomatic nearly all the time and it's as if she has an autoimmune disease but nothing I've read seems right. Plus, she's 2. She can't exactly tell us if she's dizzy or has tinnitis or her muscles and joints ache - all symptoms of various disorders I read about. I just don't know what to do for her so here I am at midnight on a Saturday, writing a journal entry when I should be in bed.
On a happier note, we went to the zoo today with friends. Peanut had a blast. She was content to ride in her stroller most of the time and was good about not running too far ahead when she wasn't in the stroller. She ate all her snacks - grapes, graham cracker bears and peanut butter sandwich cookies. Mr. Emee made the purchases. Oh well. It was a fun day and she could have been eating worse things. I saw one kid walking around with Pop Tarts. She took the peanut butter cookies apart, licked out the peanut butter and set the cookies aside. She finally ate them when she got desperate.

Poor Peanut! I would be at my wit's end too. I wish the doctor could figure out some better answers for you.
