... about a man with an accent? There's a consultant in the office from time to time who has a South African accent. Good to know that I'm only preggers & not totally dead yet.
Had my interview with John Deere last week. Now I'm waiting on the Deere John letter. Oh my. I'm so funny. I talked to my current supervisor yesterday. Looks like it's going to be June before I'm hired full time. Haven't told Mr. Emee that yet. I don't want to be fighting with insurance companies after he has a heartattack and dies at the ripe old age of 28. Alternately, I don't want to have to explain to the kids why daddy is in jail and can't go home with us.
Said supervisor is supposed to be puting in a request for an increase in my contract wage. That will help some. Should be able to sock that plus the other regular savings amounts away against the 6 weeks I'll have to go without pay after the baby is here. I kick myself sometimes for not going back to telecom as soon as I found out I was preggers. Still, I had no reason *not* to believe the boss when he said I would be permanent just after the first of the year. June. January. They both start with 'J'.
Did I mention that one of my co-workers told me last week that he (R) & his counterpart (T) are the buyers and I'm just a contractor? Oh yeah. That made me really happy. So should I pick up your dry cleaning and shine your shoes in addition to doing your filing for you? Talked to the boss about that yesterday too. He knows it's going on - that I'm basically being treated like a clerk. Pity he isn't doing anything about it. Joke is on them though. R&T would die if they knew what I'm being paid to make phone calls for them. If I actually do get hired on and if I can stay another 5 years, I can be in charge. R&T have both been doing this long enough that they're going to retire in 5 or less.
