Plant Tours and John Denver

Emee, out from under the rock

As a part of the company sponsored tech conference (read great big sales pitch) we're having plant tours this afternoon. I sit on a primary traffic aisle across from a conference room. In addition to the groups of noisy people periodically walking by, the groups are stopping in the conference room directly across from my office for refreshments. To top it off - some genius put on a dvd with some truly crap music on it. It's about 15 minutes long and I've heard it so many times that I have a John Denver song in my head. Yes. John Denver. Some of his stuff is tolerable but anything in 3/4 time is bound to be stuck in my head forever. smiley - grr

When no one's looking, give the DVD player a good sturdy bump. The disc will crash into the head gouging a nice scratch in it causing it to freeze up or otherwise be unplayable.

On John Denver... when I was a wee child my parents bought there first home stereo. The first 8-track tape they bought for it (and the only one we had for many months) was... ...John Denver: Let It Be. Yes... John Denver singing Beatles songs.

The horror....

How did you ever survive the trauma? We had several 8-tracks including the Mama's & the Papa's - good stuff. The John Denver was on LP.

The first 8 track I purchased was Hotel California. Listened to it constantly in our Custom Van. (Yes, my hair was feathered and I wore bell bottoms). I think it had holes in some spots before it finally broke. The only other 8 track in the van to listen to if we got tired of the Eagles was...you guessed it... that cursed John Denver tape. (We had a new small cassette player in the house.)
