Anti-war march

Post 1

mrs the wife

I really want to go on the anti-war march in London later today. They are anticipating anything from 500,000 to 1,000,000 people to turn out. I am not going, not because I do not feel passionate about the campaign, but because I do not feel it is safe to take a baby into central London with that many people around, no matter how peace loving they are. How could I protect her if something violent happened (albeit unintentional) such as a crowd surge?

So, I am not going, but I really hope that the day is peaceful and successful. Lets hope that Blair listens to the electorate and takes a less hawkish attitude rather than ignoring our opinions and making the UK responsible for thousands of unnecessary deaths.

I totally understand your feelings. "politics" means "people" & in this case, your first priority has to be to to protect the ones in your own world that you are able to.

--in my case also, even though I have quite strong views on the issue (having lived in the Middle East for a long time, including through the last invasion of Kuwait); I'm putting it on hold for the moment.
--if I don't start saving my own personal world, I'll be in no fit state to try & campaign to stop the rest of the planet from suffering unnecessarily.

--Neugen is involved in organising some sort of "virtual march" on Washington, that might be a good way for you to consider?

--I'll be in touch by email ASAP; just catching up on some of the backlog on here!

Well, at the moment, I'm just whizzing around as far back as I can manage & ruthlessly unsubscribing to everything that doesn't have immediate relevance, then whizzing back here as fast as the boredband will allow to see if you or Nyssa are still on!

--hows things?

Not too shabby at this end. I'm having physio twice a week as my right leg keeps collapsing under me, but it does appear to be getting more stable. smiley - monster and babydogmonkey are well and we are looking forward to smiley - monster getting some time off at Easter. We are seriously thinking of moving to the country (cheaper, less stressful and not such a target for some git with a bomb) so may start looking while he is off.

How's things with you in speedy broadband world and are you getting weird messages from BBCi when you try to post?
