Ok, my excitement about the car was a little previous. 10 days came and went and still no new car. Apparently it arrived at the docks in Harwich last week, but there is a backlog of deliveries to the dealerships due to Christmas (like Christmas never took place before!).
Never buy a car from Ford, they lie about how long it will take to get to you. Instead, try making one from lego, I'm sure it will take less time.... (wanders off to buy lots of lego, some meccano and a couple of AA batteries).

I thought for a minute you meant Ford Prefect; a hanging offence round here to say that!
Well, all this car ownership sounds like a right pain in the bum; luckily we don't have that problem, instead I got on a the other day with , both loaded down with shopping & the dick-brain driver decided to close the doors on me & drive off, me half in & half out!
He soon found out a few choice Anglo-Saxon words I can tell you, & since it's supposed to be year of the handicapped AND Angouleme magazine has a feature about how "less than mobile" friendly it is; I was all for raising absolute hell
though refused to act as my translator, being frustratingly about the whole thing, so it ended up with me attacking him instead of course!
They say opposites attract; it's probably true in our case!
Terri (personally I'd track down the boss of Ford & send him an email threatening to expose him to hootoo!

Deja vu.
Hubby ordered a car from ford through the motability scheme (benefits pay for the hire of a car for 3 yrs, at the end of 3 yrs you pay a lump sum to get a new car).
They got the spec wrong and a car arrived in time with heated windsreen and wing mirrors instead of ABS.
We ended up using my crappy little astra for 10 weeks while another car was ordered, made, shipped, delivered etc etc...70 miles a day in an astra is not good
It came in the end...and the collection was good and I'm glad to say we've had no problems with it since (3 months old, 6000 miles later)...and it beats the astra hands down.
If it makes you feel any better we had different problems with vauxhall (crappy gearbox) and volkswagon (awful customer service and dodgy brakes)...I don't know what we will do in 3 yrs time...we're running out of car makers

Don't buy a Renault either! (in our experience) they are shockingly expensive on servicing and repairs with cruddy customer service too... maybe I was right about building a car from lego after all .
Key: Complain about this post
