Hi Egon,
Dashed right here when I heard you'd done a Meatloaf entry - I was on the verge of doing one myself. Interested to hear about the new stuff - I didn't realise he had anything in mind.
First and foremost - check your capitals. There are loads of song titles and proper names in there without capitals.
Secondly - quotes. This could maybe be passed down to the Subs, but if you're not busy...the Edited Guide standard is italics for album titles and _single_ quotes for song titles (don't ask me why).
Thirdly - The Discography at the end is long and dull; I'd cut it if I were you.
Fourthly - This is kind of optional, but it does give the entry some personality. It's nice to see some critical response (even if it's your own) to entries like these - all my entries on recording artists do (Plug for A730793, A737633 and A850024).
Sorry to sound harsh, but I reckon this needs a wee bit of work, yet.

I think i got all the typos, I've boiled the discography down to the album titles, labels, and years, and left the track listings off, and now I'm going to follow your links to see this whole "critical" business.

Jolly Good!
I think they give much more to entry - they also let people who haven't heard the music before know what to expect.

So what your basically suggesting is a bit more information on the kind of siongs he does, and possibly what kind of fans his music might appeal to?
Or have I missed the point?

Just out of interest, what do you think of the altered discography? i felt that it should be there to tell people what his albums were, but thought it was a good point about it being too long and boring.

It's OK...What else can I say about a discography?
Just out of interest, what did you think to the album 'Midnight @ Lost and Found'? In a critical sense...

Not great. Although my copy only cost 75p. i thought the title track, his version of "The Promised Land" and "You never Can be Too Sure About The Girl" are good, and the rests pretty iffy. But not as bad as "Blind Before I Stop" which is a steaming pile of horse-manure. Critically speaking

Now, given that the album's pretty short, and the fact that I think Wolf At Your Door is a damn good gospel song, that makes 'Midnight' a decent album for me.
Better than 'Dead Ringer', anyway, which was an absolute pile of pants.

I quite liked Dead Ringer, especially "More Than You Deserve"

However, and I'm certain you'll disagree with this: I thought Bat II was better than Bat I (in generally musical terms, perhaps not in concept). In addition, it generally ends up in my lists for one of the best albums of the 90's.

I kind of agree about Bat 2, If only because of "Objects In The Rear View Mirror" is one of my favourite songs ever. But Bat 1's got Paradise *and* for crying out loud. it's a tough call. I actually saw him live in a tent this summer, very good. And he did a couple of new songs which sounded pretty good.

I'm not actually that fond of 'Objects' - I prefer the big, gutsy rockers, such as 'Everything Louder', 'Good Girls' and especially 'Frying Pan' (I do a mean piano solo - Roy Bittan eat you heart out).
Still, each to his own.

Everything Louder is fantastic. You know Wasted Youth? That was on Steinman's bad for good album as Love ANd Death And An American guitar, and was the intro to "Stark raving Love" which Steinman then took the lyrics off, twisted the tune round a bit and turned into "Holding out for A Hero" by bonnie Tyler.

Also, Good Girls was originally on pandora's box's album original sin, and frying pan was another one from Bad For Good

So? The 'Loaf versions are definitive - I've heard the originals of both and I didn't think they were much cop.

I agree that the Loaf does them better, just thought I'd mention them.
Although "Wasted Youth" was still Steinman, he just had sound effects on Bat 2.
