Perhaps a bit misleading...
How is it that grown adults (in this case, a female) doesn't bother flushing?!???!
It is most likely the same person who has repeatedly used and not flushed the toilet, once even leaving the seat in the most disgusting condition. We aren't talking about the lav in a roadside gas station, here, we are talking about a bathroom in a small office building which, at the moment, serves only one office on our floor. Either someone has been coming from antoher floor to use ours, coming in off the street to use it (which is entirely possible, though why they would come to the 4th floor instead of using the 1st floor one is beyond me), or it is one of the 10 or so women who share this office.
I prefer to think it is someone off the street.
However, in the last few weeks, this has become a problem. In fact, one day I cleaned the bathroom (which is normally cleaned by staff hired by the building management but they come in the evenings) rather than have someone forged to do so. Next time I intend to leave a VERY LARGE note.
Today, I simply made a sarcastic sign with a diagram and instructions for flushing the toilet.
One always runs the risk of insulting someone, not to mention incurring the wrath of our office manager for putting up a sign, but perhaps some semi-puplic shaming will do the trick. Besides it's gross.

It's probably someone who is terribly phobic about germs and thinks just flushing the toilet will expose them to germs. Or they are very lazy.

Or its like the toilet on our floor of the office - You have to flush it two or three times before the job is done.

No, in our case... one flush does the trick.

Excellent idea... However, my note was removed on Thursday morning. I was worried when the office manager came down to our office. However, I have made up my mind that, if I am confronted for leaving the note, to offer to let HIM come down and flush the toilet the next time I find it unflushed and to let HIM wash the toilet off after whoever it is has left it peed upon.
Having willingly washed the public washroom at Chapters after someone left it in a horrifying state, rather than have some other poor shnook be FORCED to do it, I am perfectly willing to clean our washroom. However, if it is "against the rules" to ask whoever it is to be more considerate, I am more than happy to abdicate the responsibility to him....
