You may remember a journal entry from the autumn of 2000, around the time of the fuel shortages and foot and mouth outbreak, in which I said how much I was looking forward to the return of the three day week.
I've got a new job. A temporary job. For three days.
Next I'm going for the re-introduction of bell bottoms, and a Showaddywaddy revival.

I vaguely remember. And you can stop it now please. There's no need for talk of bell bottoms.

Thanks hon. Can I now have commiserations on being unemployed again?
So you don't want to talk about bell bottoms. Fair enough. What kind of bottoms shall we talk about? *braces himself for a slap*

Mina Posted Aug 15, 2002
Oh, that was very quick. Commiserations hon.
Oh I'm not going to slap you, you can talk abuot the bottom of the fridge.

Oh, okay. What's in the bottom of your fridge?

Since when was talk the same as ask? hmm? Answer that and then tell me I'm daft for buying The Young Ones on DVD.

Well... I can't ask without talking, can I?
Although technically I'm typing, not talking, so if I talk about the bottom of the fridge you won't hear what I'm saying. Unless you have very good hearing.
What's so daft about buying The Young Ones on DVD? Apart from the lack of any extra features. And the fact that the charitable way to describe the packaging would be "minimal".

Mina Posted Aug 15, 2002
No, but you can talk or even type without asking.
Yeah, no extras. boo! I know why there are no outtakes though - I used to know someone who had a video of them all. I reckon that was the BBC's copy. It was very dull though, because it was *all* the outtakes, not just funny ones.
And the packaging is a bit pants, but I did get a BBc discount, which is what made it worth coughing up for. Plus I'd get to see them in the order they were shown for possibly the first time.

Do you get your licence fee back as well?
"Are you going to bed, Vyvyan?"
"No, I'm gonna sit and watch the dot a bit longer."
"I wish we had a video, then I could watch it in the morning."

I came here to congratulate you.
But I'll commisserate with you instead.
Are you really an Elvis fan or are you just winding me up?
*sniff*
*waves to Mina*

No, I really am an Elvis fan. And what's more, I'm sure it's no coincidence that he died at the age of 42.
