I access h2g2 from both home and from my office. The appearance of the site is completely different on each computer. How do I figger out which is the latest version and how do I update whichever is the older version to the newer version???

As far as I'm aware, you can only access the one current version.

The only difference is the ability of the WAP phone to access of the guide. It would certainly look different in that case.

There are, however, different 'skins' which create quite a different look. You can switch from Alabaster (white background, black text, pastel colors) to Classic Goo (blue background, white text, gooey graphics on the edges) in your preferences, but that should remain at whatever you've selected as your preference regardless of where you access the site as long as you're logged in. (If you're not logged in, the default is Alabaster)

There can also be slight differences between different browsers (Netscape or IE, etc.) and those could increase if the browser was set up with different preferences (font size, etc.). h2g2 uses the font "Arial" a lot. If one of your computers didn't have that, it would look a bit different.

What specifically are the differences that you're seeing between home and office?

Differences? The most noticable is that at home on my own page, the text of the journal entries are about 2" wide and you have to scroll down for many feet to get to the end of 'my space'. At the office, the layout is more contempory and the journal entries go all the way across the page and each are only several inches 'deep'.

At home the h2g2 logo is up in the upper left corner looking like a purplish batwing. At the office, I don't even remember seeing a logo.

Is this from the "skin"?

Yup, it's the skin. All is well. Thanks for your help.
