I was reading the Edited Entry A157466 "The Internet: an Introduction".
I glance at the conversation list and see one titled "WOW." (Including the full stop, but not the quotation marks.)
I click on it, and am brought to F18386?thread=237639.
The conversation is indeed there, with the correct heading and appropriate content. (There's only one single post in the conversation.)
But, at the top of the page, it says, in large type, "This is the Conversation Forum for Deleted". The word /Deleted/ is a link to A139556, which is indeed deleted. And, as with most deleted entries, the conversation list is hidden.
Odd.

That's because while A157466 has its forum set to F18386?thread="smiley - biggrin" title="biggrin" class="smiley" src="http://www.h2g2.com/h2g2/skins/Alabaster/images/Smilies/f_biggrin.gif"/>

This dates back to when we tried having a single forum shared between related Guide entries. It's not that the forum points back to the wrong entry, rather that the forum doesn't know which of the several (blimey - there's 48 sharing that forum) guide entries it should choose as its 'source' so it picks the first one the SQL server returns. In this case that happens to be a deleted one.
This wasn't a feature that we sent much time working on. But you might have already guessed that.
