Slow, slower, slowest!!!???
Tango Posted Jan 3, 2003
Cacheing is when your computer stores versions of pages on the hard drive so it doesn't have to look online for them, this is much quicker but usually a bad idea of sites like this that update constantly. There is a plain skin which should be even faster than alabaster.

Last questions;
1) I have given my PC 280 MB for Temporary Internet Files.
Seems to be more than enough.
2) More important; which "CODE" is the best in the Categorie "Picture" of Internet Explorer.
There are three that smee to give the same result;
W-Europe Windows
W-Europe ISO
and
Unicode UTF8

To finish my postings here;
First of all, thanks to all of you for your interests and help.
And in my case - and maybe for more of us - it appeared to be a big improvement to work with the free Browser program OPERA 6.05.
Thanks again,

By the way, about your second last post, I've found that the best setting for me is View > Encoding > Auto-Select. This automatically chooses the best setting for each page (it's different for different pages) and so characters almost always are correctly displayed.

Thanks for your suggestion.
I have put my code for image at "automatic".
Seems to be the right thing to do.
And I heard from others at this small continent=Holland, that the problem is recognised as a real problem since a few weeks ago.
I won't use a smiley to wave, because that would eat my night....
