Writing Braille

I'm considering writing an entry on how the Braille system works. I don't mean 'how raised dots are felt by a blind person', I mean the system of deciding which combination of dots stands for which letter, groups of letters or words.

This would only really work if I could show Braille dots in the entry. All Braille is based upon a set of six dots: two columns and three rows - imagine drawing the dots that you would need to join up to get the capital letter H, and you have the right idea.

Is there any practical way of doing this? You can download Braille fonts off the Internet, but of course not every researcher would have that - an they are not available for Macs (guess what I'm using?!)

The closest thing I know on hootoo is the Ambigrams entry (A505612) but I don't see how I could do the same with Braille.

Help!

I would have thought that for an article as informative as this sounds the pictures/blobs/things needed could be added to the Gallery.

If you can make the diagrams in the entry, then we can take a screen shot of them and add them to it as blobs. But you'll need to do them, as we don't currently do graphics on request.

A number of Researchers have done it this way, you could ask them how they did them if it will help.

HappyDude - you'll have to explain layout tables to me in words of one syllable...

Mina - can you give me an example of an entry like this? How many images (for want of a better word) might I be able to use - is there a l;imit?

Thanks for such prompt and constructive answers!

use the table tag (A340958 )
to construct an image
I've posted some example on A886179 you can see the code at <./>test886179</.>

Hope that helps

It obviously works (in case you don't know - that's the letter T)

But I'll have to study how you've done it.

This is the unedited version of an entry where we tool screen shots and then blobbed them - A827110. If you change the A to 'test' you can see how this Researcher put the text in using tags. You can see the finished entry here - A845723.
