Zeppo thanks you for his very own site

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC

It seems the "h2g2" portion of the URL has become completely unnecessary. Was this your intended effect?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/zeppo/classic/U18695
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/anything-you-want/classic/U18695
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/donuts/classic/U18695
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/nobody_knows_the_troubles_ive_seen/classic/U18695
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/www.hiddenlinkhere.com/classic/U18695
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/puppy-porno/classic/U18695
etc.

Or should that be
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/etc/classic/U18695 ?

This is simply because, in order to present a result rather than an error, we default to h2g2 as the site when we can't understand the site name entered.

It would be a shame if our attempts to be helpful were abused, though.

It is helpful, I noticed it when a link with a typo in it worked anyway. I guess I'm just cynical, and immediately saw the potential for abuse. That does make me cynical, doesn't it, and not abusive? smiley - blush

Not only has poor Zeppo been alabastered, the sitefilter tag won't recognize the either, so he can't tailor his own content.
