Well, if you do fail, then you know that you will have done yourself spiritual harm.
However, in these enlightened times, I think some sort of forfeit is in order...

How about, if we give in to temptation, we must put 'I'm totally lacking in self control (ashamed)' into our user name for a week.

*comes flying back on topic*
since I was giving up having sugar in my tea for Lent I might just join in.

Okay, okay, I'm in.. Put me up as giving up sweets in any shape and form. So no Softmints, no chocolate, no Gummibears, no cookies and no Kinder Buenos or anything like that.
Starting 11/3 at 16:00:01 (4:00:01pm) and continuing for 40 days from then, which would be 21st of April.

Strictly speaking Sundays are not fast days - in fact it is liturgically incorrect to fast on a Sunday - so if you think giving up kebabs counts as fasting you can make an exception then.
I think it's more applicable to people who abstain or eat only one meal a day during lent, but feel free to disagree.

By 'abstaining' I meant the 'no meat fish or eggs' kind of giving up. Something I used to do but it's not recommended if you're pregnant or breastfeeding so I haven't for a few years now.
