Zaphod is brilliant. Ford is possibly cooler but wishes he was Zaphod except, and I know it sounds strange, he's probably too sensible.
Marvin is fantastic. Sitting in an office and looking around at who you have to work with, and especially who you work for, you can relate to his depression. P.S. No claim to great intelligence implied, and it also makes you realise why you wish you were Zaphod.
The sarcastic waiter - proves some kind of universal personality theory. I suspect that when first contact is made for real, this is the type of person we'll be met by.
