There are two standard methods, used and reused many times since the dawn of language:

Method 1

  • Attach the target to the gun.

    • Method 2

  • Attach the gun to the target.

    • The above wording for these ancient artifices is taken from David Pears's excellent book Wittgenstein, Fontana 1971, pages 192 & 196.



    There is of course a third way:

    Method 3

  • Say nothing.
