My Opinions on Categories
The "Nature of" Categorization System, SYSTEM A
- Should we use the Life the Universe and Everything categorization system?
It probably wouldn't work as well, as these are different circumstances.
We could categorize it by the nature of it instead of the topic, like POETRY, FICTION/NARRATIVE, HUMOR and ODD. The problem is that these overlap, a poem could be fictitious, humorous and odd (Though in my idea, I'm sort of reserving odd for "other") And it would go even further, like the categorization could be the three major categories, humor, fiction and poetry, and if something is poetry, it automatically goes into POETRY, even if it's humorous and fiction. If something is a story or personal narrative, generally something in the first person, it goes in FICTION/NARRATIVE, and if something is a work of humor, whose only purpose is to be funny, then it goes in HUMOR. This system may not be as effective for people to navigate, but it would be a good description of it.
POETRY would be broken down into HUMOR, FICTION, SERIOUS and ODD.
HUMOR would have to be broken down into more detailed, direct categories, like satire or descriptive events
FICTION/NARRATIVE would be broken down into three categories, fiction stories, true stories, and descriptions of events

This system would be a lot easier to navigate. It would also be much more similar to the Life the Universe and Everything system.

Co-existence, SYSTEM C, or more accurately, system AB
If there is a search source for the UG, in the same way that the University of Life categorizes the EG, it would make the best sense to make it searchable by SYSTEM B, and then identified by SYSTEM A. For example, take a poem like "Soul Mates" by Hypathia. This Poem would fall under POETRY>SERIOUS>Story/Limerick in system A, and would be searchable as- PEOPLE>POETRY ABOUT>SERIOUS>LOVE or something of the sort.

For the underguide to properly function, it needs to be decisive. That's why we have the Italics. They keep everything straight and in order, the UG ought to be decisive. agcBen's ideals are noble and much better, but not as practical in my opinion. I humbly suggest an editor or two (Beside the UG Persona) that has some authority in accepting miners and deciding the process. There should be two or three die-hards with the title of editor, at least while it's unofficial. Currently, at the time of this writing, we live in the same way that earlier settlers did under the government of law and not people. I'm sure that this will all be ironed out later on, but we ought to have some leaders. There are only a few I am willing to consider, they know who they are.
