The Imperial Navy is made up of several thousand individual fleets. Each fleet is commanded by someone who is at least Commodore in rank. Fleets can be as few as a few dozen ships and as large as several hundred million.
There are several different fleet groups, each for different purposes, such as defense, scouting, patroling, convoy escourt, and stealth operations.
