Location
Semongkong, which means "place of smoke" is on the eastern edge of the Thaba Matsuo mountain range in the southern African kingdom of Lesotho
Tourist attractions
The Maletsunyane waterfall, at 192 meters tall, is the highest single drop waterfall in Southern Africa. It plunges into an enourmous gorge approximately 8 kilometers from Semongkong village.
Getting there
Although Semongkong has an airport1 there aren't currently any scheduled flights from outside of Lesotho. This means that you have to get there by 4WD vehicle of you can travel on horseback from Malealea. This latter is by far the most adventurous option.
Accomodation
There is a tourist lodge (Frasers lodge) which has a range of accomodation including very luxurious rondavel chalets
