Created | Updated Apr 27, 2002
Simply, it means to open something you shouldn't, or look back when you were specifically
told not to, or touch it just to see, often with disastrous consequences. Many
legends have been built on the consequences of a human contracting curiosity.
See Pandora (under Boxes), Eve (under Apples) and Lot's Wife (under Salt).
Very few legends have been built on the consequences of a cat contracting curiosity.
