Some 2000 years ago someone allegedly got nailed to a cross for basically saying 'Wouldn't it be nice if we would be nice to each other for a change?'

My experience is that unconditional tolerance of / love for others can be a huge effort if the others are of the intolerant persuasion. That does not mean we shouldn't try regardless.

At the risk of killing a harmless analogy: Cookie cutters are a waste of dough.

What I keep trying to tell people is that tolerance doesn't mean you put up with other people's bs: it means you admit that they have as much right to be here as you do. It's only if they give you the same courtesy that you can build a world together.
