Worlds Around Us, Worlds Within

Another mystery flower from Mrs Hoggett.

We've got lots to show you this week. Woolly Mammoth took a long walk home in Scotland. Also in Scotland, Paigetheoracle found some creative yarn-bombing going on. The Hoggetts drove across the Susquehanna River. Then they got home and were visited by a friendly but unfamiliar horse. Life's full of surprises like that – and they all share them on h2g2.

Have you visited a sacred place? Or one that fills you with wonder? Create would like to know. Send them in.

Here are some highlights from this week's extravaganza:
  • Nature everywhere. How exotic you find it will depend on where you are. Ooh, aah, and send us your natural (and unnatural) observations.
  • Fiction! The Monmouth Rebellion continues. Philip K Dick drops in posthumously with an unusual tale (what else?). FWR has news on the Henry Letterbox front, and it's as zany as you'd expect.
  • The graphic fiction continues, as well. Check in on the doings on the increasingly confusing Isle of Wight genealogy front. See what Desideria and her demon friends are up to.
  • Around the world are more wonders, from a Muscovite building that reminds me of the Hooverville jail, to the wondrous constructions in FWR's garden.
  • Lola the Doglet shows off her new haircut. Molly the cat invites comment.
  • We have Culture, even if I don't know how to define it (see Deep Thought). Watch a scene from 'Carmen'. Cheer for the bulls, I did. Find out about an Oscar-winning movie, and what Awix thought of it.

We'll be back next week with more Stuff. (Send more Stuff!) Remember to dump your mobile's photo gallery in the direction of the Post Editor (postteamhg-at-h2g2-dot-com). Enjoy the beauty around you, get out in the sun, but be nice and wear your masks to make others feel secure. Tired of ordinary masks? Try a Muppet mask. Or one that makes you look like a ferocious tiger. Be creative and shame the pandemic.

Quote of the Week: Art is confession; art is the secret told...But art is not only the desire to tell one's secret; it is the desire to tell it and hide it at the same time.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
