We started this month with a science fiction film that explored television anxiety in the early 1950s. Let's end with space exploration.

When you think of space, two things immediately come to mind: NASA, and Star Trek. Today's features combine both entities in a satisfying way. First, let's enjoy the talents of Mr William Shatner, Canada's contribution to high art.

Today's Short Subject: Mr Shatner is known for his amazing delivery. Here, he performs Rocket Man in a classic rendition that, frankly, beggars description. We'll let it speak for itself.

Today's Feature Film: NASA has the best home movies of anybody on the planet. And they really know how to share. To tell the amazing story of The Space Shuttle, how better to hold our attention than by using William Shatner as a narrator? His soothing voice somehow seems just the right one to say 'Enterprise' a lot. Also notice the music, especially at about 40 minutes in. That's when they tell us how NASA's shuttle programme came back after the Challenger disaster. Do you hear that theme from First Contact sneaking in? It's a moving moment.

This is an impressive documentary. Think of all the things humanity has managed to accomplish by working together. On a much smaller scale, think of what h2g2 accomplishes together: this month, for instance, we've explored a fair bit of our corners of the world. I hope you've enjoyed the films while you've been taking imaginary journeys with Paulh, watching Amy's chickens, visiting the French, sampling recipes, and going on trips with all the other writers.
