Looks good to me - but I shall have to hope that someone with better non-modern Dr Who knowledge that I can take a look!

ooh, first sentence: "Omega twice featured in the world's longest-running and most popular sci-fi series, Doctor Who (1963-1989)." I think that date needs updating?
Also, as a Star Trek fan, I disagree with "featured in the world's longest-running and most popular sci-fi series" so perhaps you should change that to "featured in British TV's longest-running and most popular sci-fi series, Doctor Who..."
I'll have a read of the rest later

Hello GB
Thanks for reading . I've tweaked the opening sentence*. Sorry to hear that you disagree with 'the world's longest-running and most popular sci-fi series'. According to Guinness World Records it is the world's longest science fiction television series: http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/longest-running-science-fiction-tv-series
The Guinness world records website goes on to call Doctor Who 'the most successful sci-fi TV show of all time, based on longevity, DVD sales, views on BBC’s iPlayer and publishing spin-offs. This eclipses the original Star Trek series, which has had numerous spin-offs (such as The Next Generation and Voyager) that are not a genuine continuation of the same show.'
http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2013/11/doctor-who-50th-anniversary-the-time-lord%E2%80%99s-world-records-53100/
The 50th Anniversary programme was also the most-watched drama of all time, broadcast in 94 countries (simulcast in 75) in 15 languages.
But naturally I do not wish to disparage 'Star Trek' – naturally I have all the series and films on DVD, spin-off novels and annuals that number in the hundreds, soundtrack and 'Conversational Klingon' audio cassettes, Fact Files etc. When my daughter was a baby, I used the 'Voyager' theme to send her to sleep. I also have two Enterprises (NCC1701 and NCC1701-D) on my desk at work, and only one TARDIS (also a dinosaur and a compass). 'Star Trek' has a fine and noble history, and beats 'Doctor Who' hands down when it comes to science-fiction films.

*Eventually. See Captcha for details of delay.

I read it as your personal opinion, so I think you need to quote the Guinness World Records in the Entry to support the claim, it'll do as a footnote
I'll read the rest as soon as I've dried out

I can raise you:
I have: Two Trek encyclopedias. A visual dictionary. A Trek diary from 1997 containing all the stars' birthdays. A signed photo of Chakotay signed by Robert Beltran (unfortunately it wasn't me who met him). 3 x Star Trek t-shirts - "Generations" (film), "TNG - crew" and "TNG - Enterprise D", most of DS9 on DVD, DVD box sets of Time Travel and Q. Multiple books. All of the films up to "Into Darkness" on DVD, (all of my Voyager VHS tapes had to go in the bin when my last VHS recorder went caput). An official plate (Enterprise E), a comm badge, a Data keyring, "Into Darkness" mobile phone case (it's rubber, and protects the phone if dropped, and it was free). Doctor Who - I have inherited 2 Tardis', completely full of Doctor Who cards which my son left behind when he moved out. A Doctor Who manual and the latest essential guide. I don't own any Doctor Who DVDs, there's only one I'd like to watch again, where they brought Vincent Van Gogh forward in time to see his exhibition in the present day, that really touched me and Van Gogh is Ian's favourite artist, I'd love him to see it (he's not a sci-fi fan but he's intrigued with that story)
I'm sure I've forgotten something

I'd hate to think you went to that much trouble typing it all out for me

I do indeed have a booklist of my books which I keep a copy of on a USB for charity shop visitation purposes – though it is now a word document, and has never been a spreadsheet (until 2004 I didn't have a computer with spreadsheets, and instead I used a 1980's DOS-based word processing programme called 'Leading Edge' or LEWP that came with my old Amstrad PC1512. I wrote my first hundred or so h2g2 articles on Leading Edge.)

A good idea to keep a list for bookshop/charity shop visiting purposes. I don't have a printer or I'd do the same thing. I generally know when I see something whether I've read it or not, luckily.

Most novels I can remember whether I've read or not, but fan fiction is less memorable, especially when different publications change the covers...

Good Entry well rescued
I have a couple of questions:
"murdering them for a bit"
"The Doctor is forced to use Omega's antimatter converter on him, unsure whether Omega has been erased or expelled back to his antimatter prison"
Does this mean that after the antimatter converter has been used, the Doctor is unsure what happened next?
Superb last footnote
I retuned my TV the other day and have found the Horror Channel, which broadcasts almost nothing but Doctor Who during the day Unfortunately at night when I watch TV, they broadcast actual horror instead, but I might be able to record some Doctor Who episodes somewhen, which would be good

Thanks for popping by and for your comments.
'murdering them for a bit'
In Doctor Who, people are often horribly murdered by monsters. Usually this is to emphasise the monstrosity of the monster or villainy of the villain that the Doctor is facing. Recently a gruesome murder takes place before the opening credits to hook the audience in to watch the rest of the show.
'Arc of Infinity', however, has what is perhaps the most casual attitude to murder in the whole of Doctor Who. Omega turns up in Amsterdam, wanders around, kills a gardener in order to get his clothes (shades of 'Terminator' there) wanders off again and listens to a pipe organ for a bit while glaring at people and smiling at children. No shock horror yikes scary oh no, someone's been murdered. All very much a nonchalant, relaxed walk along the garden pausing to smell the roses, commit a crime, tie some shoelaces, listen to music. That sort of thing.
"The Doctor is forced to use Omega's antimatter converter on him, unsure whether Omega has been erased or expelled back to his antimatter prison" Does this mean that after the antimatter converter has been used, the Doctor is unsure what happened next?
Yep – I've tweaked that bit.
Thanks for mentioning Horror - I'll be retuning my Freeview when I get home!
every where – corrected.
Superb last footnote
Thanks! It is sneakily a bit y as in 'Earthshock' the Fifth Doctor tells the Cybermen that one of the major differences between humans and Cybermen is that Humans enjoy the pleasure of 'eating a well-prepared meal' but it works well for people who don't get the reference too.

SashaQ - happysad Posted Apr 15, 2015
Ah, I now understand the paragraph. Just to clarify, perhaps better to tweak the sentence to, "Omega than wanders around Amsterdam for a bit, glaring at people and murdering them,"
Now I'm not sure I understand the last footnote. Is the quote from 'Earthshock' saying that Cybermen have never had a well-prepared meal?
A87848392 - Doctor Who Enemies: Omega
Bluebottle Posted Apr 16, 2015
Tweaked
The last footnote is not a direct quote from 'Earthshock' but fans might recognise it as being a reference to a quote from that episode. The original quote had the Doctor asking the Cyberleader, 'When did you last have the pleasure of smelling a flower, watching a sunset, eating a well-prepared meal?' which springs to mind scenes thus:
Cyberleader: Our Cybermen, being part organic, are hungry. You must feed them.
Cyberlieutenant: Affirmative, I shall ensure that none of the meals are well-prepared but instead are burnt on the outside and frozen in the middle.
Cyberleader: Excellent.
Mainly it is just intended as an amusing tweak on the expression 'I've had more ... than you've had hot dinners!'.
<BB<
A87848392 - Doctor Who Enemies: Omega
SashaQ - happysad Posted Apr 16, 2015
"The Daleks have been completely destroyed more often than the Cybermen have had well-prepared dinners."
If the Cybermen have never had a well-prepared dinner, then although it sounds good, this doesn't really correspond to "more than you've had hot dinners", I don't think. Perhaps it would work to say Cybermen have had hot dinners, or badly prepared dinners, or something...
A87848392 - Doctor Who Enemies: Omega
Bluebottle Posted Apr 16, 2015
...But but but – but you liked the footnote earlier and said it was 'superb'...?
I think it corresponds to the common expression, all it does is replace the word 'hot' with 'well-prepared'
What do other people think?
