Songs that make me feel “Stuff”, Musical Medication.
Created | Updated Nov 25, 2013
Well I thought I would list a few here in the hope that readers would share theirs, we need a list and we all need these songs to help us process.
Let’s start with...
ANGRY:
Michael Jackson’s ‘SCREAM’
“Stop pressurin' me
Just stop pressurin' me
Stop pressurin' me
Make me wanna scream”
I find this is made more effective by swapping the word “Pressurin” to “F&$#*n with”. Particularly if I am in the car with this playing loudly and me yell-singing.
Paul William’s ‘THE HELL OF IT’
“Good for nothing, bad in bed
Nobody likes you and you're better off dead”
It’s from the Phantom of the Paradise, and I tell you what, this happy little jaunt will make you feel better about that particular person!
MELANCHOLY:
Nina Gordon’s ‘TONIGHT AND THE REST OF MY LIFE”
“I feel so light
This is all I want to feel tonight
I feel so light
Tonight and the rest of my life”
The lyrics aren’t particularly sad, but listen to it and maybe you will see why in the right mood it helps the tears flow.
Sia’s ‘BREATHE ME’
“Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me
I am small and needy
Warm me up
And breathe me”
Just so sad and lonely, it is a lovely song that never fails to help me feel the depths of what’s hurting.
HAPPY:
Abba’s ‘SUPER TROUPER’
“Super Trouper lights are gonna find me
Shining like the sun”
Just can’t help but get into it.
Now I feel I’ve gone on enough... please add more, or am I the only one who musically medicates?
