It's Not Hogwarts
No, it's not Hogwarts. But those pagan philosophers come pretty close. Pagan philosophers were the university professors of their day. And, like today's university professors, what they did mostly was talk. And argue.
Apparently, though, they met their match in Dionysius the Areopagite, who talked them into Christianity. He probably sold them a subscription to the St Paul Sunday School Weekly, as well.
Anyway, it's a beautiful picture from the 16th Century. We appreciate it. We also wish our college lecturers had been as well dressed.
