Happy to reap seeds that I sow

But...

Nobody told me about the sick

Running to get the bucket quick!

Ah, too late, uck it, missed a trick

I'd heard about the colds and coughs

Cuts and bruises from falling off

But...

Nobody told me about the nights

Every three hours reach for the lights

Come the morning, not a great sight

I thought that when illness lurked

They'd be in bed, and I could work

But...

Nobody told me that when they're ill

They don't stay in bed or sit still

Full time job just to give them a pill!

Nobody told me - probably for the best...
