Yesterday I filled some holes

The holes were twenty-five years old

Destined for some shelves to hold

Carpet tied in many rolls

Obsession of an alco-hole-ic


This morning I drilled some walls

To hang some paintings, big and small

How long will they stand or fall?

Holes to fill the Albert Hall

Short existence for them all


Life may be sacred, holy

But most deeds survive solely

For one short life span only

Life for humans stops in a hole

No more impact - on the whole
