What happens to YOUR New Year's Resolutions?

100 Years Ago: Resolved

100 years ago this week: Puck's cover for its January issue, 1913. What these ladies are doing is sensible: writing their New Year's resolutions in the snow. Then, as the snow melts, so does their resolve. . .

At least they're honest.

We think those are good resolutions: No jealousy. No anger. No flirt. . .

Well, the jealousy and anger bit is good. As far as we're concerned, maybe a little flirting would do us all good.

Let this be a lesson to you: don't take those resolutions so seriously. At least, not the ones you make when the snow is falling.

And Happy 2013!

PS Alert h2g2ers will notice what those ladies are carrying. We won't say what they're called, because the Filther objects.
