Please note: the original covered games released at the start of the 21st Century, but as this article was getting a little long I decided to end it with the close of the 1990s. A second article based on Jenny's original, covering the period 2000-2009 will be written at a later date.

There are a few games that the original left out, including Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (I can't say I blame her, it's rubbish) and Sonic Drift and the Pico games, which are mentioned but not described in detail. Personally, although I have played all the Mega Drive games, owning a Mega Drive and Mega-CD, I never owned a Pico, 32X or Saturn and so have never played those games. I also didn't own a Master System or Game Gear, but my mate Tris did and I have played most of the games for those round his house after school.

As this article is about the 1990s, characters introduced in the 21st Century, such as Shadow, aren't listed. I must admit I did cheat a little and haven't mentioned Sonic Adventure, which technically was released at the very end of 1999, narratively it makes more sense for it to be included in the next article. That way I can summarise the rise and fall of the Dreamcast console in one article, rather than split the story in two.

You can still play classic Sonic on the Wii if you get the Sonic Mega Collection for the GameCube and have a GameCube controller. I've been playing it again this week, and it's embarrassing how rubbish I am nowadays.

There's a few places in the part about the original game where the capitalisation needs sorting.

Might be worth mentioning that Sonic & Knuckles is one of the first add-on packs for a console game, and the precursor to the modern DLC trend?

Other than that, it's a good entry. Some great memories of those games!
