Click on the related one with django Asül (the Bavarian Turk). I'm just watching it and he said this gem (it is about the European Union):
The English are against everything. In principle, the English are Europeans who don't want to be Europeans: the exact opposite of the Turks.
So true.

Heh heh Bel I don't know what Helmut Kohl was really like but that was funny! It reminds me of some satirical impressions of local politicians by Pieter Dirk Uys, and also some poetic satires by, I think, D. J. Opperman.

Our all-time favourite South African comic is Mitzi Wildebeest. Here she is cooking asparagus:

Willem, there are a couple of longer videos of her anti-apartheid pieces. We remember her from the 1980s.

The article , thread and suggested links were most enjoyable!
I'm bookmarking in order to finish the links in this thread.
I like humor with heart , it is usually true.
It is a great way to break down barriers.
In spots ,I like some irreverent comedians.
They tend to talk politics.
They walk a fine line a and sometimes cross it.
I can take some offensive remarks as long as it is not the goal.
I don't think it is possible to be edgy without offending some people ,sometimes.
I'll leave trying it to the professionals!
I remember reading h2g2 helpful hints for posting early on.
It was suggested that you not go for humor because it is easily misunderstood ,
can be offensive or both. I tend to agree.
There are a few funny h2g2 posters that I enjoy!
I would not want them to change.

I think you've got a point with the posting...
My best advice when it comes to h2g2 friends would be, 'Cut them some slack. They probably didn't mean it that way.'
