The Rector of Stiffkey

0 Conversations

More interesting than the pronounciation of Stiffkey, is an amusing revelation found by a friend and I. Completely in love with the story of the Harold Davidson, and living near to Stiffkey ourselves, we decided to visit the legend's grave. Engraved on the gravestone, as well as the usual "Here lies..", in the bottom right corner was engraved the word "BEAVER". This baffled us, and provided another comic element to the already surreal story, but why is it there? Was it the manufacturer name of the gravestone? We found this unlikely as no other gravestones that we had seen had anything like it. Could someone please solve this cryptic message to lay this story to rest and to let me get some sleep!
