Martin, you wanted my permissiont o use the Valeshini.
Granted!
Hower, I am alos using the Valeshini in my story, but mine's just a straight follow up of Yet Another Sixth Doctor Adventure, you know, Briers getting released from the Black hole and all of that.
If you want, I could give you a slightly more detailed synopsis of my story...

Ah, I see...
Well if you could give me a more detailed synopsis of your story I would be grateful.
I my story The Doctor stumbles across a secret meeting between the Valeshini and the Rutans. The Valeshini have formed an alliance with the Rutans in their war against the Sontarans. But the Sontarans meanwhile have built a superlaser weapon, capable of eradicating an entire planet(And its not called a Death Star before you ask!)
I cant tell you the rest of the story as It will ruin it for you, suffice to say 'you know who' will be back...

Ah, there fore making the story the fabled "thing with the Valeshini" as mentioned in My Kingdom For A Body?
Well basically in my story the TARDIS materializes near the black hole where the Doctor trapped the fleet at the end of YASDA but whilst he's there they manage to break free. In an attempt to stop him the Doc lands on Brier's ship but is captured. He kills Briers (inadvertantly) and causes a power failure on the ship. The ship manages to escape the vortex despite the power failure and materialize near Earth (or Putney as they call it) this leads to an attempt to invade, yadda yadda yadda.
Also Martin, to help you out here are a few facts that may aid you;
The Valeshini home planet is called Valeshnos
All Valeshini officers take their names from guest stars on Who (hence Blessed and Briers from YASDA)
They know of the Time Lords
Most of their ships can travel across time, but are not as advanced as the TARDIS.
Hope that helps!

I had actually forgotten about that 'thing with the Valeshini' from My Kingdom for A Body. Its actually going to be set after Ends of Eternity. With Rasputaltron escaping from the vortex. I'm going to be explaining that reference though...

Martin, I've been chatting with the Huck. His story is going to be a companionless one, so would it be possible for you to drop off Eliza and Carl somewhere in your story, or have them leave the TARDIS? The reason the Doctor can give is that he's "going to look for an old friend". Is that alright?

Yes that would be fine. I had thought about killing one of them off as part of Raspy's revenge on the Doctor, But I suppose I wuld have to ask Jennys permission since they are her creations...

I don't know, one of them could die and the other could stay behind so that someone would remember the dead one, or something similiar or the Doctor slips away quietly whilst the others are busy helping to clear away the mess from your story? Or possibly Carl joins the space fleet, it would fit in with his missing the action of war...
Eliza's going to be the problem to give away happily. If you decide to kill one off then I'd advise it to be her, could also fuel Carl's want to join the fleet, revenge!

I'm just here to help, it's quite fun being "script adviser" of a new Series of Doctor Who! I was thining of saving all the stories to disk and printing them off, possibly addig illustrations and a cover (I can do quite a good representation of the Eighth Doctor - even if I do say so myself - and the Valeshini were based on some pictures I'd doodled during a free lesson in school one time...)

Funny you should say that, I recently designed a cover for Chekawowe.

Mike Zigrosi Posted Feb 25, 2003
I thought of doing one for Chekawowe but never got around to it. I did one for Enigma, an NA style cover with Eight versions of the TARDIS being pulled through a rip in space (I know that never happens in the story but it's nothing compared to some of the target covers is it?)

By the way, you dont seem to have mentioned Valeshini hierarchy...that I know of. So I have come up with a ruling Valeshini council controlled by First Minister Spight, is that ok?

Also, some further information about my story-
Rasputaltron is now ruler of the Rutan/Valeshini alliance.
The Sontarans are losing the war.
The Doctor is captured by The Valeshini and repeatedly tortured by Rasputaltron, Rasy even pulls the Doctor around on a leash and treats him like a dog.
Members of the valeshini Ruling council include - First Minister Spight, Chancellor Collins, Fleet Commander Lynch General Chagrin.

Certainly except there is one Valeshini above them (one originally intended to appear in YASDA but didn't) and that is the Valeshini Emperor. He is almost entirely robotic but very rarely leaves Valeshnos and when he does it is aboard "The Mothership". He also has a wife known as the Imperial Girly. But I'd just keep those to in the background as the Valeshini Emperor is actually rather lazy!

I am enjoying YAEDA by the way, its very good. Incidentally what do you think of my ideas for my story, good, or a bit over the top, I dont ant to get carried away...
Season 28 Thread
Mike Zigrosi Posted Feb 25, 2003
I'm really pleased with your ideas Martin. The only other person whose story I really know anything about is the Huck's and he's going very over the top, but I think I've amanaged to mellow his ideas a bit. He ahd a glorious vision of disclosing the identity fo the Enemy (obscure EDA reference apologise if you don't know what I'm talking about) and bringin back Gallifrey from its destruction at the end of The Ancestor Cell!
Incidentally, I don't know if you've noticed but all of the episode titles from YAEDA are the titles of Queen Songs! I was going to call the story Bohemian Rapsody but I couldn't think of a good enough reason.

Ah well we wont be hearing much from The Emperor anyway, Raspy's in charge now, I may include the Emperor later on though as I have finsihed the story yet.

Mike Zigrosi Posted Feb 25, 2003
May I suggest that as a twist the Doctor could or some one (possibly even the Sonatarans) could help the Emperor to regain power of the Valeshini to overthrow Rasputaltron who otherwise would win (if its the Doctor it would be the better of two evils - literally - and if it were the Sontarns it would merely be military tactics!)
Season 28 Thread
Raspy Posted Feb 25, 2003
Well I've already devised the ending, and its shokcing I can tell you, For once Rasputaltron is going to win!

Mike Zigrosi Posted Feb 25, 2003
I can hardly wait, I did feel the ending of my story might be a bit shocking for some but looking at it now as I'm posting it it's nothing compared to some of the other stuff Who's done in the past!
